Winter Aspen by Mary Ellis LaGarde

“What we do now echoes in eternity.”

― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

“My goal is to create beautiful art that will last many hundreds of years – art that future generations will recognize as art and will appreciate for its beauty.  To accomplish this goal, I use the same types of oils, pigments, varnishes, and painting techniques used by the great Renaissance masters.  Their works have lasted more than 500 years and are recognized by all of us today as true art.  The Venetian painting technique I use is very time-consuming and requires tremendous patience.  However, the results will stand the test of time.”
