Mary LaGarde has completed her latest painting. This one is an oil portrait of her granddaughter Genevieve and her grandson Lucas. As with most of her paintings, Mary used painting techniques, oils, and varnishes that match as closely as possible those used by the Renaissance Masters like Vermeer and Rembrandt. It is a time-consuming technique that requires up to twelve layers of paint and many months of time to allow each layer of paint to dry before the next is applied. Below are pictures that document the process.
