After my painting workshop, I headed to the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). It has one of the largest art collections in North America. It also has a nice collection of Italian Renaissance paintings which is of interest to me since I am learning to paint like Caravaggio at the Academy of Realist Art this week.
The young people in Toronto appear to be very interested in art. The AGO has free admission on Wednesday nights. I started my evening sitting by the window at the Village Idiot Pub just across the street from the AGO. The line of young people waiting to get into the museum was impressive. After a plate of traditional fish and chips and a local draft, I checked out the AGO and was not disappointed. After a walk through Chinatown and Kensington Market and a bowl of gelato, I am ready to call it an evening.
