Toronto sits on the banks of Lake Ontario. Just south of the city are a series of islands where the locals go to hang out and enjoy nature. A ferry runs between downtown and the islands but families and kids often prefer to rent kayaks and large canoes to get from the mainland to the islands. There is a large population of white swans that have taken up residence on the islands. You also can’t beat the view of downtown Toronto from these islands.
